Tonight, I made two big staples in Turkish cuisine: kofte and tomato bulgur. These two items are also very quick to make, which is always good. Kofte are basically like meatballs except they are a little squished, and sometimes in a small cigar shape. They are usually baked, but I don't have an oven so I fried them in a skillet and they turned out fine. The tomato bulgur was really easy, and probably one of the best-tasting things I have made here. It is exactly what it sounds like, bulgur cooked like rice, with some onion, tomato paste, and tomatoes. Look at that picture; I managed to get the steam coming off the bulgur!
